I heard that there are many exercises today, but I missed the class... I got a bad cold today, so I sleep all day and feel better now. I hope that exercises today will not count too many credits!! I bought some food and fruits last night in extra food, and it was raining last night and I forgot to bring my umbrella. After took shower I felt a bit uncomfortable, and got cold this morning.

Busy week

It's a little bit busy these weeks. I have a CMPT 470 assignment due next thursday and a 1200 words essay due next monday. The assignment is to write a program about a store locater, which shows the location of the stores in the map and some detail information about them. For the essay due next week, actually I haven't read the topic about it, it should be something about science and philosophy. In addition, there is a presentation next tuesday about a tech evaluation of node.js. Too busy!!!!!

Mahjong

Last night, I played Mahjong with my friends. It's very interesting. Mahjong is a game that originated in China, commonly played by four players. While the single-player tile-matching game mahjong solitaire is familiar in the West, the four-player table version is predominant in Asia. Similar to the Western card game Rummy, mahjong is a game of skill, strategy and calculation and involves a certain degree of chance.In different variants it has different tiles but it is always played by four players. There is little uniformity in the way Mahjong is played in various provinces in China and it is played in a different way in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. Traditional Chinese Mahjong is played with 144 tiles (including 8 flower/season tiles) and some variants incorporate just 136 tiles (without flower/season tiles which are optional tiles used to apply bonuses).

Reading break

I don't like this reading break. I have too much things to do in next 10~20 days. One essay for CMPT 376 and one essay for PHIL 144. There are 7~10 pages essay to do in this holiday. In addition, I have to learn something about node.js for our team in CMPT 470, we need to do a introduction and a demo to show how good it is in next class. Meanwhile, gotta find co-op and jobs, since it's the 4th year in sfu and almost done all my courses. Too busy!!!

Happy Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. In China, it is also known as the 'Spring Festival' to celebrate the coming of spring. The night before the Spring Festival, all family members come together, enjoy their foods and TV shows -- Spring Festival Gala. It is published by CCTV -- China Central Television. In that show, many famous singers and artists will perform their own shows. In addition, the most important thing is to  set off fireworks at midnight. Chinese people think fireworks can protect them from illness and bad luck. 

Workshop

I attend a all-in-one workshop today. It is about resume, cover letter and interview skills. It's interesting. I have learned something about how to organize your resume and cover letter and how to make them attractive to employer. And in the interview part, we did a lot of practices. We were asked to make an eye contact to your partner in 2 mins without looking around. That's kind of embarrassing, but it's really useful.
